New Westminster, BC – It took some veteran savvy, but Florenz Knauer defended his title as New West Grand Prix champion on Tuesday night at the second edition of BC Superweek’s newest race. Knauer, who’s from Germany but lives in Delta, BC, was inconspicuous throughout the race, but it turns out that was exactly what he had planned.
If participating in the New West Kids Prix has alighted your child’s enthusiasm for racing their bicycle, there are lots of great ways to further develop their passion for cycling.
“Superweek is a big deal,” says Wilson-Roberts of his motivation to volunteer as one of coordinators of crossing marshals, the people with flags who ensure spectators can safely cross the course between laps.
The New West Grand Prix is returning to the historic streets of downtown New Westminster on July 10, 2018.
The New West Grand Prix is a criterium or crit. It’s a mass-start bike race contested on a tight, closed circuit the riders will lap 40-60 times in about an hour.
